5 minutes of Black Bird!

A special five minute version of this work in progress will be shown at Malmö Stadsteater TONIGHT as part of their Hipp-night! This is very exiting as it is rare for independent DANCE productions to receive invitations to perform at this beautiful and special stage.

20 minutes of Black Bird

The first public sharing of this work happens TODAY @ 3e Våningen in Gothenburg, as part of the GIBCA extended. Also on the 26th of September. For tickets and more information click this link: http://www.3vaningen.se/utsnitt.html

A work in progress

Inspired by the photographer Masahisa Fukase, his book Fukase and it’s basic thematic

A faitfull collage where the art of dance, projections and deep sounds co-exist.

The future work is inspired by Masahisa Fukases artistry and the central thematics he worked from: isolation and tragedy in different levels of depth and abstraction.

Choreography and performing artist – Maria Naidu

Visual Artist – Thomas Romlöv

Sound collage, Lights and costume – Tom, Dick & Harry

Two artistic processes in two cities at the same time.

First of a WARM welcome to Valerie Green from New York City who is here for a two week long intercultural exchange between NYC and Malmö, made possible by The Swedish Arts Grants committee. She will lead a daily workshop, working site specifically, outdoors, with participants from the Malmö dance milieu. The workshop will culminate with public showings at the site, Malmö Hus on September 6th and 7th at 1 PM and 3 PM. She will also give technique classes in collaboration with Danscentrum Syd during her stay. More information about this here: http://danscentrumsyd.se/sv/for-dansare/daglig-traning/

Second, Maria has received a research residency at Kungsbacka teater 26/8-6/9, through Rum för Dans in Halland where she will explore the potential of projections as scenography to be used in her new work Black Bird (working title) that will premiere in 2020.

She is joined by Master visual artist Thomas Romlöv :http://kubkub.org
