“Sammankomst” unfolds into a symphony of bodies, light, and shadow. A union of movement, expression, and interaction that offers a multifaceted and enriching experience.
The work communicates a sense of wellbeing and positive energy through continuous movement and rhythm. The atmosphere is visual, auditory, physically tangible, and inviting. A celebration of spontaneous, individual expression in dance.
Professional dancers open the dance and remain in constant motion until the end. The audience takes part according to their own ability and inclination, in their own way, regardless of age or background. By creating a dynamic and inclusive atmosphere, people are united in a dance experience that symbolizes a unified, forward-moving force and creates a cohesive sense of community where no one needs to feel alone.
The movement is continuous, and the music and rhythm carry on unbroken throughout the work’s duration, creating a sense of continuity and interweaving between dancers and audience, where the line between active participants and observers dissolves — as even those who choose only to watch become part of the community. The atmosphere of the place comes alive, as if it has its own heartbeat pulsing in time with the dancing bodies. Visitors are drawn into a magical world of conscious presence.
It is more than just a dance performance. It is a shared experience that evokes feelings of joy and togetherness. Dancing together symbolizes the power of a tradition that has survived through the ages. Dance becomes a unifying force that transcends cultural boundaries. “Sammankomst” invites participants to reflect on the importance of community and collective participation at a time when it is needed most.
The work can be performed in any kind of location or setting.
The only technical equipment required is a mobile speaker.
